These Terms are a legal agreement between you and Attic Inc., a Colorado corporation. By using our service you agree to them. If you don't, don't use the service.
Attic provides sturdy crates, scheduled pickup and delivery of those crates, and storage in Denver. We do our best; we don't promise perfection, but we promise to make things right when we fall short.
Crates are Attic's property. You're responsible for not destroying, defacing, or losing them. Normal wear is expected.
For safety, law, and the sake of everyone whose stuff is in our storage, you agree not to place any of the following in a crate. This list is Attic's single source of truth for prohibited items and is also surfaced in the app when you book.
Food, beverages (alcoholic or otherwise), plants, seeds, medications, supplements, and animal feed. Pest, mold, and contamination risk; regulatory exposure.
Flammable liquids and gases (gasoline, propane, lighter fluid, aerosols, paint thinners), combustible solids and powders, explosives, fireworks, ammunition, compressed-gas cylinders, corrosives and acids, pesticides and fertilizers, loose batteries (lithium-ion cells, lead-acid car batteries), and mercury thermometers or switches. Consumer-electronics batteries already installed in your devices are fine. Fire, explosion, and contamination risk; DOT regulations; insurance exclusions.
Firearms (assembled or disassembled), ammunition, weapons, and any items requiring federal or state registration. Legal exposure on transport and chain-of-custody; insurance exclusions.
Controlled substances — including marijuana in any state where Attic operates, regardless of state legality, due to federal interstate-transport concerns — stolen property, counterfeit goods, and smuggled or contraband items. Federal and state law; results in immediate account termination and cooperation with law enforcement.
Live animals, animal remains, human or cremated remains, biological samples, and medical waste. Welfare, regulatory, biohazard, and odor concerns.
Attic's default per-crate liability cap is $500, so the following are not appropriate for the default cap and require a coverage upgrade or alternative storage: original artwork, antiques, or collectibles valued over $500 per item; cash, precious metals, and gemstones in raw form; securities, deeds, wills, and unrecorded financial instruments; and irreplaceable heirlooms or sentimental items you cannot afford to lose. Our liability structure cannot absorb the loss; bailee carriers exclude these categories at base rates.
Each crate (the standard MilkCratesDirect XLT271712) has a maximum loaded weight of 50 lbs, and the lid must fully close and latch — items extending past the rim aren't accepted. We don't store assembled furniture, mattresses, large appliances, rolled rugs, vehicles (cars, motorcycles, RVs, boats, trailers), engine or fuel-system parts, or large recreational equipment that doesn't fit a crate. We also can't accept items that can't be lifted by one person, have sharp edges or protrusions that endanger our team, or emit strong odors.
If we find prohibited items during intake, we may pause the pickup, remove and return the item on your next delivery cycle, refuse the crate, or involve authorities as appropriate.
Every crate carries up to $500 of coverage for loss or damage caused by Attic, at no extra charge. Higher-tier coverage is available for an additional cost if you're storing items worth more than that — arrange it with us before booking. This coverage doesn't apply to prohibited items, items you failed to declare honestly, or damage caused by your own packing (e.g. an unpadded glass vase jostled by its neighbors).
Our total liability is capped at the covered amount per crate. Claims must be filed within 30 days of return.
Pickups and returns can only be requested from your own Attic account in the app, so no one else can schedule a pickup or send your crates back. You choose how each handoff happens: pick Ring doorbell to hand your crates to the driver in person, or Porch pickup to leave them out for a no-contact grab-and-go. If there's a dispute (e.g. a crate you ordered back never arrived), contact support@attic.it.com or in-app chat. We aim to respond within one business day.
You can cancel any crate or close your account at any time from the app. We'll retrieve your crates at no cost and end billing at your next cycle. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, attempt to store prohibited items, or harass our team.
The service is provided "as is." We disclaim all implied warranties to the fullest extent allowed by law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you can't waive under applicable law — including Colorado consumer protections.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Colorado. Disputes will be resolved in Denver County courts, unless you elect small claims where available.
